The Custom House Picture Palace was opened in 1912. Later known as the Electric Theatre, by 1937 it was operated by the executors of F. Parnell, the same as the Apollo Picture Theatre, located on nearby Freemason’s Road.

It was listed as open in 1940, but closed later in that year. Possibly due to its location close to the London Docks, it was most likely destroyed by German bombs which devastated the area during World War II.
