Looks like this had been a former main stream house that switched over to X-rated films.
The Theatre is now a Cash America & Pawn Shop
AKA’s Avenue, Cine 2 and Columbia. During its time as the Cine 2 it played Spanish speaking movies. During its time as the Columbia it played main stream movies (1920’s thru 1930’s). During its years as the Avenue it played main stream movies and was operated by Isley Theatres and later UA Theatres.
1972 Ad for the Guild Theatre. Al that Don mentioned in the intro is listed in the ad plus a little more.

Chuck, this particular “Avenue” Theatre was not built until about 1949. It was originally called the “Columbia” because it replaced another theatre up the street that had been known as the Columbia (and, I believe, closed just prior to ‘49 as the Rita). The Rita building is still there, but has long since been re=purposed. The “new” Avenue was renamed “Guild” in the very late '60’s or early '70’s. The last time I was in that block of Columbia before the name change was May of 1968; I believe there was a George Montgomery picture advertised on the marquee.
