Harold Robinson opened the single screen Rancho Drive-In, in the summer of 1948, which was the first of its kind for Denton.
The drive in closed permanently in 1982, fell into disrepair, and by 2005 the only evidence left standing was a portion of the snack bar.

A view of the Rancho Drive-In in Denton Texas.
In 1971 the screen was blown over in a storm. After repairs the theater opened with two screens as Town and Country Drive In. The sight is across the street from the UNT engineering building on old highway 77.
This will take you right to the old site.
