Opened soon after the Shadowood 12 debuted across the busy Glades Road/U.S. 441 intersection, the Mission Bay 8 replicated General Cinema’s late-1980’s eightplex layout (similar to four other new South Florida GCC locations at the time).

For years, the Mission Bay was the South Palm Beach venue of choice for many platform/limited engagements. Closed suddenly in 2000 as GCC made an abrupt exit from the market, the theatre found new use as an LA Fitness gym.
