Opened in 1939 and closed in 1980.

Actually I believe Ted Mann took over in 1963. Before that it was operated by Harold Field.
The Park was the second Minnesota theatre to screen 70mm (following Mann’s Academy). 70 arrived in 1959, with a screening of Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty”.
In December 1965, it became the Park Cinerama with the opening of “The Battle of Bulge”.

Yes, the auditorim has been torn down but the lobby is today a jewelry store.

The Film Daily Yearbook gives the address as 3825 Minnetonka Boulevard which doesn’t map and is probably wrong. Cinematour has photos of this building. The photos show a jewelry store located in this former theater. The address for Elequent Jewelry is 4835 Minnetonka Boulevard. Google maps that address to Minneapolis. Sometimes you just can’t win. :)
