The Victory Theater was operating prior to 1950. In June 1953, the Gastonia Gazette announced that Charlie and David Cash had leased the Victory Theater to the Stewart & Everett chain.

Not to be contradictory but are you sure the Victory was located in Cramerton? There is only a N. & S. Main St. in Cramerton and it is all residential. I did however find an address for a Victory Theatre in Belmont at 176 N. Main St. Belmont and Cramerton are right next to each other.
I remember the newspaper article putting it in Cramerton. Perhaps the city boundaries have changed over the years.
The Film Daily lists the Victory Theater as being in Cramerton. It is possible that the bounderies have changed over the years. The Film Daily also lists two theaters for Belmont, the Gay Theater and the Gem Theater. I don’t think either one is listed on CT.
LM, please don’t give anyone ideas about listing them without and address. LOL
Chuck….I just added both of those theaters with no address (just kidding). Since you’ll probably end up looking for the address anyway, you should add them. :)
LM, here are three others for you in Belmont, the Isis, the Majestic and the Royal. All the buildings are still standing but in other uses. I am not adding theatres so if they are added I will fill in the addresses where I have them.
Okay Chuck. I’ll see if I can find any information on those theaters . Even if I find an address, I’ll add them without it just to keep you busy. :)
