The Southwinds Drive-In opened in 1975 with a capacity for 350 cars

It was run by the 8th Street Theatre Co, who also operated the Duffy Cinema 3 (formerly Cinema Twins).

Southwinds Drive-In closed in aprox 1990.

The 1990 Film Canada Yearbook still lists a Southwinds Drive-In in Saskatoon with a capacity for 367 cars.
