Cheboygan Drive-In

The Cheboygan Drive-In went through a number of owners, John Wagner, Charles Leneschmidt, E. Wagner and finally R.J. Theatres before closing. The drive in opened in July of 1952 with car capacity listed at 500 and a single screen. The Cheboygan Drive-In was closed on August 24, 1984 with Lance Guest in “The Last Starfighter” & Rick Springfield in “Hard to Hold”.

The site is now a gas station.

The front of the lot is occupied by a BP gas station which recycled the drive-in’s driveways.

The Ticket Booth is still standing. It is visible from Google Maps Aerial but too many trees to see it at street level.

Closed On August 24, 1984 With “The Last Starfighter” And “Hard To Hold” As Its Last Films, Since Both Films Played As A Double Feature Before Its Closure. I Can’t Find Anything Else After Those Showings. It Is Now A Marathon (Former BP) Gas Station.
