Highland Theatre

Highland is almost on the Hudson, just east of New Paltz and a stone’s throw from Poughkeepsie. The town is a really small and sheltered main street and anyone can miss it. Just behind it is a nice sized hill and boom! you’re right on the main roadway with the bridge to Poughkeepsie across the way. The Highland Theatre was opened by 1950 when it was operated by Liggett-Florin Booking Sevice. They were still the operators in 1957.

The site is now a private, pre-school called "123 P.L.A.Y."
