Elmwood Theatre

I couldn’t find an opening date for the Elmwood Theatre but it was in operation in the early-1940’s. The single floor theatre listed seating at 700, nice size for a neighborhood house. The theatre closed sometime in the early-1950’s, with the lobby area being converted to retail (Furniture Store). The auditorium is still standing in use as a boxing training space.

I have a 1974 CINCINNATI paper with no ELMWOOD THEATRE listed. Must have closed in the early 70’s?

I went to the Elmwood Theater to see the movie “Three Murderesses”, which was not in the early 1950’s.

An organization called Bonekrushers National Pro Wrestling Tranining Center is listed next door at 6105 Vine Street, and passing by the location, it would appear they are using the theatre space at 6109 to train their students and present exhibition matches to the public. Their alumni apparently includes former TNA champ Abyss and WWE Diva Jillian Hall.
