I couldn’t find an opening date for the Elmwood Theatre but it was in operation in the early-1940’s. The single floor theatre listed seating at 700, nice size for a neighborhood house. The theatre closed sometime in the early-1950’s, with the lobby area being converted to retail (Furniture Store). The auditorium is still standidng but no usage given.

I believe the venue became a furniture store which is now out of business.

I have a 1974 CINCINNATI paper with no ELMWOOD THEATRE listed. Must have closed in the early 70’s?

I went to the Elmwood Theater to see the movie “Three Murderesses”, which was not in the early 1950’s.
