In 1988 Cineplex Odeon razed the original El Dorado Theatre, which had been built by ABC Theatres in 1967, and replaced it with this six-screen multiplex of the same name.

Odeon’s multiplex operated for 15 years before succumbing to competition from a newer megaplex nearby, and in 2003 the building was converted to retail space.
