Located between Upper Holloway and Finsbury Park in inner north London. The Hornsey Palace opened in August 1911. The cinema’s entrance and exit were converted from Victorian terraced houses at numbers 335 and 345 Hornsey Road. The auditorium was built in the rear gardens of the houses in-between. It was operated by an independent company known as Islington Cinemas Ltd.
By 1922, under new owners it was re-named Star Cinema. It was closed in 1937 and became a warehouse. Later demolished, housing has been built on the site.
