Variety Picture Palace

Located at the corner of Caledonian Road and Lyon Street, to the north of Kings Cross Railway Station, in the Barnsbury area of Islington in North London. The Variety Picture Palace was a shop conversion which opened as a cinema in 1909. It continued through several operators until it was closed in 1915, and it reverted back to retail use.

In the 1980’s it was a Mecca Bookmakers betting shop. Later it became a solicitors office. By 2020 it was a Paddy Power betting shop.
