The Ritz Theatre opened in the late-1930’s in the downtown section of El Dorado on the corner of E. Main Street & S. Hill Street. It was operating as a movie theatre well into the late-1950’s. The building is used for retail and now houses Pat’s Glass, a collectable store.

The Ritz Theatre was one of eight theatres that was located in the downtown area of El Dorado, the only one left and still standing as a theatre is the Rialto Theatre, and in 2009 it is closed.

The “Theater Changes” section of the January 15, 1938 issue of Film Daily listed the Ritz at El Dorado as a new theater. Possibly opened in late 1937, given the trade journals' tendency to be late in their reporting.
