R.A.F. Pembroke Dock Astra Cinema and Theatre

Built in 1830 as the Pembroke Dock Garrison Chapel it was designed by the Royal Navy’s chief architect George Ledwell Taylor. After the Army left in 1930 it was converted into the Astra Cinema and Theatre. Astra was a common name given to millitary cinemas

The Air Force and Royal Navy left Pembroke Dock in 1957 and the hall closed and became a motor museum. This closed in 1975, and the building became derelict.

It was renovated by the local authority in 2006.
