The Airline Drive-In was operating by 1955. It was the first of the Baton Rouge drive-ins to close permanently, presumably for the building of an interstate extension in the area in the early-1970’s. It existed into 1970, shortly after the Gulf States chain had debuted their Showtown Twin at the opposite end of Airline Highway, and was then closed and razed soon after.

This drive-in was located to SE of the Hwys 61/110 interchange. The ramp leading from 110 to 61 east crosses approx. where the entrance was.
