Opened as the Greenville Grande Stadium 14 on April 20, 2007 under Charlotte-based Consolidated Theatres. It was Greenville’s largest megaplex that included stadium seating in all auditoriums with plush seating with cupholders. All auditoriums were equipped with full THX and Dolby Digital Projection along with advance ticketing for upcoming features and two large concession stands. When the Greenville Grande opened I was glad to have an alternative to the Carmike 12, which was showing its age. The first movie I saw in this beautiful cinema was “Grindhouse”. I had previously seen “Grindhouse” at the Carmike (which was a more fitting venue for that film) and the difference between the two multiplexes was like night and day. The Greenville Grande is the better of the two; why Carmike is still in Greenville I haven’t figured out.

Regal closed its Greenville Grande on March 16, 2020 for the COVID-19 pandemic. It reopened in September of 2020 but closing soon thereafter on October 8, 2020 when the circuit temporarily shut down operations again worldwide.

Regal reopened the Greenville Grande on May 21, 2021. However, it closed permanently following showtimes on September 14, 2022 with the company in its latest round of bankruptcy protection. It was one of 20 locations approved by a bankruptcy judge allowing the venue to break leases as it was unable to pay all of its September leasing due to liquidity problems.
