Located in the southeast London district of Deptford, on the corner of Giffin Street and Deptford Church Street. Mackesey’s Picture Palace was an early cinema, operating prior to 1909. It was possibly a shop conversion, and was closed by the end of 1909, as it did not meet the requirements of the 1910 Cinematograph Licencing Act.
In 2008, a new library stands on the site.
