This small hall, with seating on a single level was opened in 1913 as the 425-seat Northwood Picture House. It was soon re-named Ritz Cinema, then Northwood Cinema, then in May 1921 Playhouse. By April 1932, it was operated by Alfred Dove of Barnes. In July 1934, it was re-named Tatler Cinema. It was listed as closed in 1940, possibly due to war time conditions and it never re-opened. It was converted into a war-time British Restaurant in 1942. In 1954, it was purchased by the local council.

In 2008, the building was in use as the Northwood Dining Club, catering for old folks.
