Opened as the Star Theatre in 1899, closed in 1920 and reopened as the Comet Theatre. Renamed the Lyric Theatre in 1922 and renamed again in 1925 as the State Theatre.

The theatre kept the State name until it closed for good in 1949. The theatre was later demolished and is now a prking lot.
Any further information of the State Theatre would be appreciated.

My ancestor search for Rice and Barton-Rose Hill’s English Folly Company has brought me to this picture of The Star Theater in St. Paul MN. According to Saint Paul Globe, December 25, 1904, this troupe performed ‘Knights of the Red Garter’ and ‘A Senator for an Hour’. thank you for uploading this photo.
