The Majestic Theatre opened in 1927 with seating given at 560. The architect for the theatre was Myles Belongia. This was one of several Majestic Theatres listed for Milwaukee. I could not find an owner/operator listing. The information I do have came from Jim Rankin before he passed away along with stacks of information on other Milwaukee theatres.

The theatre closed in 1980 and has since been demolished. Any further information on the Majestic Theatre would be appreciated.

The architect field at top currently misspells Belongia.

One of the few mentions I’ve found of a Majestic Theatre in Milwaukee comes from Movie Age of January 19, 1929. It was being operated by L.K. Brin. As there is no address given I don’t know absolutely if it was this Majestic Theatre or the older one downtown that the item was about, but given that the article referred to this house as Brin’s Majestic Theatre, and the downtown Majestic was part of the B.F. Keith/RKO circuit, it seems likely that the item referred to the Majestic on Layton Avenue.

A February 2 Movie Age item that same year said that Brin had recently acquired the Majestic, so it was built for someone else.

The building at 3620 Layton looks much too old to have been built after 1980. It has a definite 1920s look to it. Maybe the Majestic hasn’t been demolished after all.
