Opened in 1966 as the single screen White Theatre. The theatre was operated by Florida State Theatres. By 1975 it was under the ABC banner and by 1990 Cineplex Odeon.
It was later renamed the Center Theatre and was twinned in the early-1970’s and became a triplex by 1982.
The Center Theatre closed in 1992 and later became an Office Depot.

I think it was triple before 1982,Chuck. I have it playing July 1 1981 “FOR YOUR EYES ONLY” “DRAGONSLAYER” and “RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK”.
Ann Dunbar was managing this theatre June 3 1983.
If I remember correctly, the Office Depot used the existing building and did not demolish it.
This was another venue our UF Sci-Fi club did a lobby display for: 1989’s Batman. I was disappointed that the house had mono sound!
