The State Theater was operating prior to 1941. It was part of the Minnesota Amusement Co. chain in the late-1940’s, along with the Huron Theater in the same city.

Opened in 1930 MIDCO operated the theatre after Minnesota Amusement until Logan Luxury Theatres took over. It was converted to a twin in the early-1980’s and closed in 1998 when the Huron Luxury Cinemas opened down the street.
