The Tower Place 6 was the predecessor to the Mansell Crossing 14. The Mansell Crossing was built on the location of the Tower Place 6. This theatre was operated by AMC. It was open by 1980 and there are conflicting dates for its closing and demolition.

The theatre that is the subject of this page never existed, and is the result of incorrect or misread information on the AMC website and posted on the page for the AMC Mansell Crossing:

There is an AMC Tower Place 6 Theatre, but is is located in the Tower Place Office Complex in Atlanta at the corner of Peachtree and Piedmont Roads, near Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza. It was built in the late 70’s and was the second AMC theatre in Atlanta. It has gone through several operator and name changes over the years and is listed on this site as the “AMC Buckhead Backlot Cinema and Cafe.” It is now back under the AMC banner and is called the AMC Fork and Screen. The theatre listed as Tower Place 6 in the intro to this page was not torn down to build the AMC Mansell. In fact, nothing was. This entire area was farmland proir to the construction of the North Point Mall and all of the satillite parcels, one of which is the AMC Mansell and another of which is the Regal, formerly United Artist North Point.
If possible, this page should be deleted. If that is not possible it sould at least be ignored.
I hope this page is deleted or someone might think that I do not know how to spell satellite or sHould. I certainly do not know how to proof read.
