The Riviera Theatre was operating prior to 1941. During the era when boarding houses, modest resorts, and summer camps abounded in this river town in Sullivan County, NY the Riviera Theatre was the evening’s destination for visitors and locals alike.
In summer it offered a 7 pm and a 9 pm showing, but was never open in the afternoons.
As far as I know it was completely independent owned. The Riviera Theatre was still listed as open in 1950.

Remember seeing the Carpetbaggers here in the early 60’s while vacationing at a local boarding house.
