This old DC Ammeter was ‘original equipment’ installed when the Metro opened in the 1920’s. At that time, huge DC motor-generator units were used to provide the power for the carbon arc projector lamps, and there were 3 meters (2 ammeters & a DC volt voltmeter) to measure the power. The meters were removed shortly before the theater closed and are now owned by a private collector.
