I was a District manager for Sameric, which ran the theater. Great memories of Francis Potter and Joanne Teofilak. I don’t believe this theater closed before Sameric sold. The theaters to UA. I left the company in Aug 87. My other theaters included Ardmore, Wynnewood,Barclay Sq,Pilgrim Gardens, Clifton Heights, McDade,TriState, The Terminal, Frazer, West Goshen,Concordville and of course Brookhaven. None of which exist today.

If this twin didn’t open until February 19th, 1972, there must have been some sort of construction delay. The August 23, 1971, issue of Boxoffice reported that the Eric Brookhaven Theatres I and II were expected to open around Thanksgiving (early November.) The auditoriums were each to seat about 700.

If this theatre was called the Eric Twin, would it not have been a Sameric Theatre???? Sameric Theatres were taken over by United Artists about the time this theatre closed if my memory serves me correctly at which time a number of Eric Theatres were closed.

In 1970 and a company builds a Twin Theatre, must have been one of the last BIg twin theatres built.Don’t get me wrong,I wish that would have been as large as theatres got.A 20 plex? Don’t like “walmart moviegoing”.

Google doesn’t like the address in the map link for some reason. Try this one instead:

5042 State Road 352, Brookhaven, PA 19015 United States

PLEASE ADD TO THE ADDRESS:

5042 EDGEMONT AVENUE.

Thanks, SilconSam, I think it’s the building behind the building with the white roof?

From the descriptions above, this is more than likely it. It’s a beer distributor in Brookhaven, attached to the North end of Plaza 352 Shopping Center, Bing calls it Cambridge Square…..

I seen many movies here. Here’s a few that played here.
Private school 1983.
Slumber Party Massacre 1982.
Friday the 13th part 2 1981.
The last movie i saw here was in august of 1986, Friday the 13th part 6. Jason Lives..
Its a beer distributor now, when inside, you can see the little window that was once the projection booth.. It’s been closed since may of 1987. I think of of the last movies shown here was called Outrageous Fortune…
