The Georgia Theater in Statesboro, Georgia was a theater I spotted while heading through town many years ago. It had a nice impressive marquee. One could look into the managers office while walking inside with their ticket.
Of course, it was long closed with a big chain on the back exit doors to keep me from exploring. I did manage to open the doors enough to peek in and saw items tossed over the blue theater seats, like maybe then the city was using it to store stuff. I did snap picture of that mess and one of the marquee. The Georgia Theater was opened in 1936 with 663 seats, it continued until the 1980’s.
Thankfully, this fine old theater was saved and operates as the Emma Kelly Theater.
