Reese Harrington is my great uncle. He and his wife, Alta Coffin, owned and operated the theatre.

That’s interesting! I think your theory is probably correct; a misprint that should have read “Mr. Reese of Harrington”. Thank you!

The 1946 edition of Theatre Catalog states the Reece Theatre was built for Reese Harrington. That could be a misprint and possibly they meant to say a ‘Mr. Reese of Harrington’?

I’m interested in learning more about this theater as a part of researching family history in the area. Can anyone tell me why this theater was named Reese Theater? Is there a first name associated with ‘Reese’? Was the theater family owned? Are the Reese family members buried at Hollywood Cemetery the same family associated with the theater? Any information at all would be appreciated! Thank you! – Karen Reese
