I was by there last week and the theatre is still there, and looks just like it does in those photos. Sad really.

“The Flemingsburg City Council held their regular monthly meeting Monday, September 10, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Annex………

……..Councilwoman Sparks expressed concern over the condition of the old Princess Theatre. The building continues to fall down. Chief Sergent said it is a safety issue. It could fall into the street. Mayor Flanery stated that if it falls into the creek it will create a dam and if there is a hard rain it will flood the downtown. Gene Schwartz said the EPA had looked at it this past spring and said it was not ready to condemn yet. If the city condemns the property the city will have to pay for the demolition and clean up."

Stopped by the Princess Theater today while in Flemingsburg with my son. This theater is not long for this world at all. Basically just a shell at this point, with the ticket booth removed and only the front doors giving an indication of what the building was once used for. A peek through the doors is telling, as is the condemnation noticed pasted to the front door. This theater is doomed. And as Bob Jensen mentioned, the address is 217 North Main Cross Street. It’s right next to the IOOF Lodge. For now.

PLEASE ADD TO ADDRESS:

217 n. main CROSS street

Without the CROSS in the address, Google sends it to EAST Main Street, a residential area.
