The New Fox Theatre was opened in 1937. It was built on the site of the old Auroa City Mills.
It was closed in 1951, but later re-opened and continued until the late-1970’s.

Did Main St. change names at a later period, Main St. will not map for Aurora.
Some sources have this theatre and the nearby Paramount Theatre listed both on Main Street. The Paramount Theatre is at 23 E. Galena Blvd.. This might track better for the former New Fox Theatre location., which looks like it’s gone.
Anyone have more info or photos?
From what I found on an Aurora Website the New Fox closed in 1978 and in 2006 the building was incorporated into the Paramount building. www.answers.com/topic/aurora-illinois
In Aurora, Main Street became Galena Blvd. in the 1950s (or so). The New Fox is on the north side of Galena/Main and on the east side of the Fox River (between the river and Broadway). The Paramount is on the south side of Galena/Main and is on the west bank of the Fox River (the Fox River splits at the Aurora Casino and most of downtown Aurora is on an island… the New Fox and Paramount are on either side of the east branch of the river). I have recent photos of the New Fox that I will post soon.

The address in the header should be 54 E. Galena Blvd. not N. Galena.
That is the same address for Fastpring which maps with a photo the same as the photo by DarkRefrain.
