This is the kind of drive-in that probably would have been one of the last to make it on Cinema Treasures. Set in a very rural area of South Carolina this gem might not have ever made it on Cinema Treasures had friend not told me about the Elloree Drive-In. Yes, it was small, yes they would play bingo before the show, everything a small town drive-in is all about.
The Elloree Drive-In parked only 150 cars, most of the booking done out of Charlotte. It was owned by E.B. Mack.

Correct spelling of the town is Elloree. Correct ZIP Code is 29047. The State is right however…..

I was just going by the spelling in my 1956 Motion Picture Almanac I guess i assumed wrong they knew how to spell. It is ELoree in my Almanac.Sorry guys.
There was also a movie theatre in town called the Playland Theatre, it was originally located above Halls 5cent to a dollar store until a new theatre was built across the street.
