This is the kind of drive-in that probably would have been one of the last to make it on Cinema Treasures. Set in a very rural area of South Carolina this gem might not have ever made it on Cinema Treasures had friend not told me about the Elloree Drive-In. Yes, it was small, yes they would play bingo before the show, everything a small town drive-in is all about.
The Elloree Drive-In was opened around 1951 and parked only 100 cars, most of the booking done out of Charlotte. It was owned by E.B. Mack.

Correct spelling of the town is Elloree. Correct ZIP Code is 29047. The State is right however…..

I was just going by the spelling in my 1956 Motion Picture Almanac I guess i assumed wrong they knew how to spell. It is ELoree in my Almanac.Sorry guys.
Hard to get an address that will map on Google, but just follow SC-6 west of town for roughly 1.5 miles, then when you get to State Rd S-38-556 make a right (heading north) for about .1 mile, the drive-in would have been on the left, or the west side of State Rd S-38-556. It is now farm land.
