Located in the south Manchester district of Longsite. The Queen’s Picture Theatre was opened in 1914. All seating was on a single sloping floor, and it was always an independently operated cinema. It was closed on 21st March 1961 with James Mason in “Journey to the Centre of the Earth”.

The building, together with a whole stretch of this east side of Stockport Road near the junction with Slade Lane has been demolished and redeveloped with shops.
