Cinema San Juan 1 & 2

This theater was located on the first floor of the Banco de San Juan building on Avenida Luis Munoz Rivera across from the old Sears department store (later converted to Puerto Rico Communications Authority offices). The timeline of its short-lived operation was around the late-1970s/early-1980s.

If I remember correctly this theater was owned and/or operated by Juan Gerard, who organized several film festivals.

Robert, if you don’t mind I’ll correct the name of the avenue. It is Luis Muñoz Rivera. Anyone can make a typo, me included. Saludos.

I remember two features that played here: “The Fog” (original 1980 version) and a Telly Savalas film (“Border Cop”, I believe).

This reminds me that Cobian Plaza building (close to Radio City, Excelsior, Matienzo and Music Hall theatres) had a two screen theater on site, but was operated for a few years.
