Tower Cinema

Located in Ancoats, an inner-city district of Manchester. The Tower Cinema was opened in 1913, and was up the hill from the Don Cinema on the corner of Piercy Street and Beswick Street. It was operated by the Cinema Circuit group.

The Tower Cinema had seating in stalls level and in a small balcony. The proscenium was 22 feet wide. It was taken over by the Union Cinemas chain in July 1936, and they were taken over by the Associated British Cinemas(ABC) chain in October 1937.

ABC closed the Tower Cinema on 30th May 1953 with Rory Calhoun in "Miraculous Journey" and Joe Palooka in "The Big Fight". The building was later demolished.
