Aodem, check out the 1959 photo of the Odem Theatre I posted on its page – are the three people on the right Flossie, your mother, and Milt?

The first listing for the Odem-Medo I’ve found was an ad in the 1952 Redmond High School yearbook announcing the opening of the drive-in.

I grew up with a mayfair sign as my garden wall and wonderful stories of my grand parents Milt and Flossie. My mother adores the memories of her parents and how much my children and I remind her of them. I haven’t seen my families landmarks since I was a child. I do hope to take a trip soon to explore and give thanks to my grand parents for a pretty neat family.

Also see my Dream Theater & 812 Cinema on Cinema Treasures. All built from the inspiration from Milt Odem. Thank you Milt. We both built community treasures. The Dream and 812 Cinema have a fan page on facebook with over 2,000 fans. The wonderful world of motion picture theatres.

I went to all three Odem Theatres. The Odem, Mayfair and Odem-Medo Drive-in in the 1950s. Milt Odem was the inspiration for my career in show biz. He offered his Mayfair Theatre for two of my stage productions beginning with Oregon Centennial in 1959 and a production from Hollywood with dance star Sylvia Lewis from Ray Bolger tv show and “Singin in the Rain” movie. What an incredible man was Milt and his wife Flossie and daughter, whom I would like to reconnect with. You can see my films at johnharrisfilms.com. I wish I could rebuild the Mayfair Theatre which still stands inside a bar in Redmond. My “Rosebud”. Love the Mayfair Theatre.
