Carolina Theatre, Columbia, SC.

The Carolina Theatre opened in 1931 with seating listed at 1,230 which was one of the larger downtown theatres. The theatre was part of the Wilby Kincey chain (Paramount). From 1980 until 1983 it was part of the Irwin Filler Theatres.
The theatre closed in 1983 and has since been demolished.

Any further information on the Carolina Theatre would be appreciated.

Located next to the Wade Hampton Hotel, which was razed in the 80s. The location was on the west side of Main about where the parking lot is in the photo
