The Welcome Drive-In was located 3 miles out of town on North Highway 8. By the 1970’s, it was showing a lot of soft R rated movies such as "Student Nurses" or a lot of cheap horror films. It sold itself on being the best in Lexington,N.C. Judging by the films, it certainly was not.

Named for WELCOME, NORTH CAROLINA. Welcome is 6 miles North of Lexington on Highway 8.
Held 175 cars.
