After their original building was destroyed by a 1911 fire, the Crystal Theatre reopened in a converted roller rink. It closed in 1924. The site is the current location of the Strand Theatre.

In World War II submarines were built in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

The August 12, 1916, issue of The Moving Picture World had this item: “Manitowoc.â€"Roach & Son have sold the Crystal theater to Z. G. Stebbins, who will transfer it to the Paramount service, which he had been running at the opera house.”
