This is where the Hampton Roads Boys Club took us kids for free every other Saturday (alternated with the Dixie (two blocks away)). The price for admission on Saturdays (if you did not come with the Boys Club) was between 12 noon and 1pm 5 cents for kids under 12, and 13 and over 15 cents. After 1pm, Regular price 15 cents for kids and 35 cents for adults. This is were I saw The Tingler, The Day the earth stood still (original, The fly (original) and many other great classics.

According to the Historical Marker placed, the Moton operated at a moving picture theater from 1941 – 1966. It was then converted into a Community Center.
