Located in the Granville suburb of Sydney. Built on the site of the Castle Theatre (1911-1923). The Hoyts Castle Theatre was opened on 26th December 1947.

Hoyts Castle Theatre had a short life, closing on 23rd October 1959. It was used for several years by Hoyts for storage. In 1971, it was sold and the foyer became a supermarket, with the auditorium laying unused.

It was converted into a reception centre in 1986, in 2011 known as the Grand Royale.
