No,lol. It was not demolished for a Walmart: Its actually across the street at the old Goose Pond swamp. We actually did not really have it on the market. Just recived offer’s from time to time. The lights from the strip mall made it to hard to see the movie and we were unable to work anything out about it. They damage was caused by whomever . They liked to climb up it and bash out holes. The city demanded that we removed it.Dad wanted to save it for the Grand kids but it did not work out to well. They had no idea what they were doing and sold it all. The outlots were sold for million each. That is not looking out for the best intrest of the faimly. Then of course they did not want to pay people the money they owed them. I took them to court and the rest is history. Thats why The Heath has not been sold.

It Closed In 1986. Newark Police Also Responded To The Theater Due To The Screen Being Vandalized In July 1987. It Was Demolished In 2004 To Make Way For A Walmart.

The Valley Drive-In has been demolished. The land where it was located is now occupied by a gas station, Home Depot, a Bob Evans restaurant and an Aldi. At the time it was built in 1948, it was an isolated area. It is now a major shopping district. To the north is a shopping center. Across the street, what was once a farmer’s field, is now a Walmart Supercenter.

It was not owned by TrI state the actual owner name was “Price Theatres” dads office was downtown newark Ohio on 2 ed Street.

The Valley Drive-In launched August 10, 1948 with Abbott & Costello’s “The Time of Their Lives.“ Over 1,500 people attended that night with 550 cars packing the lot.

Also, there was only one drive-in in Newark, OH. The other was in Heath.
