Located in the north Sydney suburb of Crows Nest. The Crows Nest Theatre was built for a Mr. H. Bolland, and opened on 14th November 1929. It was said to be the first cinema in the area built and designed specifically for ‘talkies’. An unusual feature of the auditorium was a balcony which ran across the top of the proscenium.

It was closed briefly in July 1937 for alterations to be carried out. The cinema was modernised in around 1948. The Hoyts Crows Nest Theatre was closed in March 1965, and was demolished.

A supermarket was built on the site, using some of the exterior walls of the theatre.

This theatre was very close to the Pacific Highway and just down the hill going north was the Sesqui Theatre aka the Metro, Crows Nest.
