The auditorium of the New Victoria Theatre vied from the balcony at its opening in 1930. Note the hanging ‘stalactite’ light fittings manufactured by F.H. Pride of London. There were 12 of them, each 12ft long. The have now been removed, possibly during World War II when they were deemed a hazard in case of bombing.
