Located on the corner of Fairfield Road and Victoria Street, Braintree, Essex. The Picture Palace Cinema was opened in 1912. Advertising on its canopy ‘Electric Photo Plays & High Class Variety’. All seating was on a single level. By 1927 it was operated by the Tozel & Linsell Circuit.
It was taken over by the Shipman & King chain in 1929, and was closed in 1930.
Shipman & King demolished the Palace Cinema and built their new Embassy Cinema on the site, which opened in April 1935. (It has its own page on Cinema Treasures)
