Odem Theatre 1958

The Odem Theatre was opened by 1937, a conversion of the Mannheimer’s Building to the plans of architect Day Walter Hilborn. It was closed in 1959. It became a Martial Arts school. By 2020 it was in use as the Oden Theater Pub, screening Public Domain movies and sporting events, including the Super Bowl.

The address of this theater is 349 SW 6th Street in Redmond. On the Google Maps street view this is seen as the Kung Fu Studio, complete with marquee.

The Odem Theatre last advertised in the Redmond High School yearbook in 1959.

The records of architect Day Walter Hilborn indicate that he worked on the Odem Theatre twice, providing the original plans in 1936 and plans for a remodeling job in 1947.
