It is a plain building, with an entrance jutting out from the main body of the building. All seating was on a single level, and the auditorium ceiling had a barrel-vaulted ceiling. The proscenium was 18 feet wide.

The Birch Lane Cinema was closed on 26th September 1959 with Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis in “Hollywood or Bust”. After a period laying unused, it was re-opened in 1962 as the Silver Birch Bingo Club.
