Ranch Drive-In

Opened July 7, 1949 with Glenn Ford in “The Return of October”. It held 518 cars and was owned in 1955 by Central States Theatres. Closed in 1995, it was demolished in 1999.

The long-running Ranch Drive-In opened in 1949 with “The Return of October” by the Ames Theatre Company. In August of 1962, operational control of the Ames Theatres including the Ranch to the Central States Theatre Circuit. The theatre closed in 1995 and demolished in 1999.

“The Rocketeer” was presented at the Ranch Drive-In in Ames, IA beginning on the film’s nationwide release date, Friday June 21, 1991.
