Victoria Theatre

Located in Dursley, Gloucestershire. The Victoria Theatre was opened around 1918, a conversion of the Victoria Coffee Rooms. The architect was O. Wainwright. Seating was provided for 231 in the stalls and 102 in the circle.

It was taken over by Oscar Deutsch’s chain of Odeon Theatres Ltd. on 29th July 1935 and re-named Victoria Cinema. It was severley damaged by a fire on 25th January 1947. Eventually repairs were carried out and it re-opened on 2nd August 1948 as the Odeon.

The Odeon was closed on 20th October 1954. It was converted into an indoor market. Today, the building is in retail use.
