1966 Dixieland Drive In

Opened prior to 1955, the Dixieland Drive-In was located in Fayette, Alabama. It was run by Mrs. Lucy Cobb and a Mr.R.C. Cobb was the booker and buyer through Richards Theatres, It held 270 cars.

My hometown. If we weren’t going to the Richard’s (walk-in) Downtown, we were enjoying the Dixieland Drive-In. I remember when it first opened, they had a miniature train you could ride.

It is visible in the 1952 aerial photos.
